I know my own blog writing was helped by the A to Z, just in being able to shorten my posts a bit. I kept them very short out of necessity for the challenge, but now I find myself trying to tighten up the writing if possible, because I do appreciate that on other people's blogs.

I'm looking forward to reading more of yours! The life of children in those times was certainly not something to laugh about, but the pompous characters were. Charles Dickens did a great job poking fun at them. I do...Happy birthday! :) Hope you have a good one!

I don't know about literary heroes... let's see. Maybe L. M. Montgomery whose life's passion was writing. Or maybe Charlotte Bronte who wrote a letter to her literary idol asking for a critique of her work and was told "Writing is for men, get back in the kitchen" (paraphrasing). So she wrote a little thing called 'Jane Eyre' under a male pen name and achieved huge success. Or perhaps it's Murasaki Shikibu, who wrote what is considered to be the first novel over 1000 years ago at a time when women weren't supposed to know how to read or write. She wrote a naughty little romance called 'The Tale of Genji' for the Empress, despite being told by the monks of the time that she was going to hell for it. "You don't know me; I do what I want." Is what I imagine she told them.N J Magashttp://njmagas.wordpress.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1008145630280152430.post-30090975233661691052014-04-14T22:35:25.474+01:002014-04-14T22:35:25.474+01:00Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it. It is one of the best written books that I have read EVER, and is one that I think everybody should find some time to read at some point. I am a better person for it now. All I really meant by that comment was to bring the mood back up. And although I don't mention it in my post, the book did deal with bigger issues than myself like child trafficking. I just wanted to highlight what the book meant to me. I did read To Kill A Mockingbird around the same time as this, and I really enjoyed it too. I completely agree with you that the fact that we are still fighting against discrimination in this day and age is shocking. Enjoy the rest of the A to Z challenge.

GracexxxAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15142148464977784683noreply@blogger.com
